--- title: "18-01-06 Future Changes in Morality" visibility: public --- # 18-01-06 Future Changes in Morality Category: [[idea-lists-upon-request|Idea Lists (Upon Request)]] [Read the original document](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ygJ85TmxT903nUoWx8Nn7u_3fs0IEi8TMuhf2DFAOzs/edit?usp=drivesdk&sa=D&ust=1596495076869000&usg=AOvVaw1KDzEUOH91Cap8Z4LrVNay) <!-- gdoc-inlined --> --- Moral Shifts: 1. Animals, will sound like eating babies 2. Social Media / Privacy Morality 3. Attractiveness Discrimination 1. Heightism 4. Cosmetic Surgery being acceptable - people should look the way they want to look 5. People born attracted to children who don’t act on their impulses are heroes, should be lionized 6. Software rights (Intelligent / Emotional / Conscious software) 7. Plant Rights 8. Genetic Improvement as morally compulsory 9. Cloning becoming acceptable 10. Anti-Tribalism 11. Expansion of the tribe to be all-inclusive 12. Allowing bad or abusive parents to raise children 13. Capitalism / consumerism as evil (even relative to embracing scarcity) 14. Uncreative work at scale 15. Right to attention 16. Right to time 17. Wage Slavery Two interesting questions here: * What are the genuinely likely changes? What features predict moral shifts? * Which changes are generalizations of my own moral views that currently feel invalidated? Thought: Ask this question as a getting to know somebody step… much like anitvalues, it elicits core beliefs that distinguish them from the society, and so are important to their identity.
